StatusText only works if the StatusBar is visible. So try

$object.StatusBar = True

before getting/setting the StatusText propery.

I don't think that's correct. On the PC I tried this morning the staus bar was not visible unless I set StatusBar = True, but the script worked OK either way. If you have the status bar not visible, set the text and then set it visible you see the text.

That was XP SP3

Maybe we're both partially right? I noticed the other day in my testing when using the InternetExplorer.Application object (Win7 x64 and IE9) that the status bar is hidden by default. Reading the StatusText property works, but trying to set it with the status bar still hidden throws an error. I thought I'd mention it in case it was the problem.

Since ptrex also has W7 then it looks like you are right. Lets see what he says.

When I replace the ObjGet with the ObjCreate("InternetExplorer.Application")

What happenes to the ObjCreate("Shell.Application")

where my initial problem is ?

Func _Container_Open($sName, $iMode)
    Local $oShell, $oShellWindow, $oShellWindows

;   If Int(StringLeft(FileGetVersion(@ProgramFilesDir & "\Internet Explorer\IExplore.exe"), 1)) < 7 Then
;       Return SetError(-1, 0, 0)
;   EndIf

    If Not ObjEvent("AutoIt.Error") Then
        $oContainer_COMErr = ObjEvent("AutoIt.Error", "__Container_COMErrHandler")
    EndIf

    $oShell = ObjCreate("Shell.Application")

    If Not IsObj($oShell) Then
        Return SetError(2, 0, 0)
    EndIf

    $oShellWindows = $oShell.Windows

    For $oShellWindow In $oShellWindows

        If $oShellwindow.StatusText = $sName  Then
            Return $oShellWindow
        EndIf

        If @error Then
            ExitLoop
        EndIf
    Next

    If $iMode = 0 Then
        Return SetError(1, 0, 0)
    EndIf

#cs
    $oContainer = ObjGet("new:{C08AFD90-F2A1-11D1-8455-00A0C91F3880}")

    If Not IsObj($oContainer) Then
        Return SetError(3, 0, 0)
    EndIf

    $oContainer.StatusText = $sName
#ce

    $oContainer = ObjCreate("InternetExplorer.Application")
    $oContainer.StatusBar = True ; IMPORTANT!!
    $oContainer.StatusText = $sName

    Return $oContainer
EndFunc

This isn't working for me. I'm getting an error -1 on the msgbox "Container open failed" when trying to open the receive file. I believe this error indicates I have IE below 7, but I'm using IE11 on win 8.1. So what to do? or should I just use the WM_COPYDATA udf? Thanks.
