Return the last folder name from _PathSplit

Recommended Posts

I've tried to get the last folder name from _PathSplit

#include <file.au3>
#include <array.au3>
Dim $szDrive, $szDir, $szFName, $szExt
$TestPath = _PathSplit(@ScriptFullPath, $szDrive, $szDir, $szFName, $szExt)
MsgBox(0,0, $szDir)

If the full path to the getpath.au3 file which have the above code inside is: C:\folder1\folder2\...\foldern\getpath.au3,

$szDir returns: \folder1\folder2\...\foldern\

How can I get the name of 'foldern' ?

If you use StringInStr and look for the 2nd "\" from the right end rather than the left end, that should get you the folder name, unless the script is run from the root directory.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

You need an SRE: :)

$sFullPath = "\folder1\folder2\folder3\foldern\"
$sLastFolder = StringRegExpReplace($sFullPath, ".*\\(.*)\\\z", "$1")
MsgBox(0, "Last Folder", $sLastFolder)

.*\\ - Any number of characters followed by a \ (you need to escape the \ because the RegEx engine uses it)
(.*) - Capture any number of characters
\\\z - Until you meet another \ followed by the end of the string

All clear? :)
