Copy a defined text, foist it on a variable

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

Today is the 1st day i learn autoit and i get some troubles.

I want to copy a defined text from firefox and foist it on a variable.

After searching forum, i'm able to copy a text now by MouseClickDrag but I CAN'T do the next step.

Example: I copied text: "202" from firefox address. Now, i want to foist it on a variable ($abc for example) so i can do some calculation with $abc. But i can't make the text i selected become a variable.

My code is below

WinActivate("Mozilla Firefox")
MouseClickDrag("left", 428, 57, 458, 57)
$text = Send("^c")
MsgBox(0, "example","result" & $text)

Of course, it didn't work.

Any advice?

There are those that believe that the perfect heist lies in the preparation.
Some say that it’s all in the timing, seizing the right opportunity. Others even say it’s the ability to leave no trace behind, be a ghost.
