Hi,

I am having inputobox to get the values and i have to check whether the input whatever entered on inputbox is number or not. for that i am using the function ISNUMBER().. but it's returning me the return value '0'. Can some one help me on this?

Global $n
$sInputBoxAnswer = InputBox("Patch Details", "", "", " M", "50", "130")
$n=IsNumber($sInputBoxAnswer)
MsgBox(0,"",$n)

Thank you,Regards,K.Syed Ibrahim.

Read the Help file a liitle more. The IsNumber() function returns 0 or 1, if the variable isn't a number or it is. And the InputBox() function will always return a string, so IsNumber() will always return 0 in this case.

Syed23,

I would do it this way: ;)

$sInputBoxAnswer = InputBox("Patch Details", "", "", " M", "50", "130")
If StringRegExp($sInputBoxAnswer, "^\d*(\.)?\d*\z") Then
    ConsoleWrite("Is Number = " & $sInputBoxAnswer & @CRLF)
Else
    ConsoleWrite("Not Number = " & $sInputBoxAnswer & @CRLF)
EndIf

SRE explanation:

^     - start at beginning of string
\d*   - any number of digits
(\.)? - possible decimal
\d*   - any number of digits
\z    - End of string

All clear? :huh2:
