Another thing is that FileCopy doesn't return the name of the file copied to, it just returns 1 or 0. So this, Run (@ScriptDir & "\"&$jj) translates to Run (@ScriptDir & "\"& 1 <or 0 if it failed>) which obviously isn't right.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

you are copy a file to another file with random name... so you cant get the name of the new file, maybe you should store the name in a variable first, and use that variable.

Run("demo.exe")
If UBound(ProcessList("demo.exe")) > 2 Then
    $jj = "demo" & Random(100, 10000, 1) & ".exe"
    FileCopy("demo.exe", $jj)
    If @error Then MsgBox(0, "Error", "The file can´t be copy. Error code = " & @error)
    ;or $jj =filemove("demo.exe","demo"&Random(100, 10000, 1)&".exe")
    Run(@ScriptDir & "\" & $jj) ;new demo.exe run,
EndIf

Anyway.. why do you want this?
