Modbus Binary CRC16

Drumline

Hi all,

I need a Binary CRC16 calculation for Modbus protocol in autoit. Found only string version

I'm not a real programmer, only want to write values on a LCD display. The only part that strike me is CRC16. Can someone help me?

I.E. for this 2-bytes word:

010A

the CRC16 (calculated by a tool named ModbusMat) is 0x8027.

If exist some command-line utility to calculate this type of CRC16, will appreciate links.

Thanks.

This modified version gives the correct result:

Dim $avTest[5] = ["Test line 1.", "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz01234567890", 0xFEDCBA98, Binary("0x010a"), StringToBinary("Binary test.")]
$sMsg = ""
For $n = 0 To UBound($avTest) - 1
    $sMsg &= $avTest[$n] & " crc16 = " & _Crc16($avTest[$n]) & @CRLF
Next
MsgBox(64, "Crc16 Test", $sMsg)

Good to see other PLC programmers on here.

jhcd's version above returns the correct value as confirmed by a program from Lambert Bies (http://www.lammertbies.nl/download/lib_crc.zip).

Both jchd's version and the one from Lambert Bies return a CRC16 value of 0x2780 for 0x010A. Your original post shows that you are expecting 0x8027 (high and low bytes swapped).
