SciTE Autoit Version: Syntax coloring - old style?

8 posts in this topic

Hi.

After installing Autoit v3.3.8.0 and the latest SciTE Editor, Autoit Version, from downloads, the coloring is completely different.

I'm just wondering, if there might be an easy way to switch back to the old coloring style, without loosing (maybe) important other changes integrated to this version of the customized SciTE Editor?

  • Autocomplete: Before the typed letters turned to bold red, as soon as it was a valid abbreviation (mb -> MsgBox()
  • Variables: a soft gray, before it was bold red-brown
  • string text: now red, before: bold soft gray
  • {senkey-strings}: now just plain black, bold orange before
  • ...
Amazingly the SciTE help system is still showing the old style of syntax coloring?

Or, maybe, I messed up something, and it should be exactly as it was before?? :)

Regards, Rudi.

Hi.

Thanks!

I've been in that dialog, but missunderstood the meaning of this "New Scheme" button: I thought, it's a kind of "reset settings button", to return from messed up settings to the "new scheme" :)

Regards, Rudi.

llc, please do not resurrect old posts, especially when you're not adding anything to the discussion thread.

Hello, it's been a couple years since I worked with AutoIt.

I downloaded the newer version and I'm having this issue as well.

Your suggestion sounds as if CTRL+1 is supposed to be generating some sort of options or settings GUI, but it does absolutely nothing for me in SciTE.

Is there another way to get to those settings, or have I accidentally disabled something that could be preventing the hotkey?

Thanks in advance,

BA

p.s. Apologies for resurrecting; I'd rather this than creating a new thread.

Do you have a file open with an ".au3" extension?

Did you install the extra SciTE4AutoIt3 installer?

That did the trick.

I had it downloaded, and thought I had installed it.

Turns out, I was using whatever SciTE version that came with AutoIt.

Thanks much, Jos.
