Better random

7 posts in this topic

Sorry if this topic was raised before, is it possible to make better random?

For $i = 1 To 55
; Write the line randomly
If  Random() < 0.8 Then
        ConsoleWrite("2" & @CRLF)

    EndIf

    ConsoleWrite("1" & @CRLF)
Next

Gives this

2

address,

AutoIt's Random function is pretty good - the problem was with your code. ;)

Can you see the difference between your script and this one: :)

For $i = 1 To 55
    ; Write the line randomly
    If Random() < 0.8 Then
        ConsoleWrite("2" & @CRLF)
    Else
        ConsoleWrite("1" & @CRLF)
    EndIf
Next

Please ask if not. ;)

Looks pretty predictable to me ... random would be a little less predictable..no? Edited by Jos

For a single, and pretty short sequence to, it looks perfect. Odd thing about good random sequences generators is that they can generate anything you can think of. ... If your lucky it might even return '1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,etc' for a while.

For $i = 1 To 50
     If Random() > Random() Then
        ConsoleWrite("2" & @CRLF)
    Else
        ConsoleWrite("1" & @CRLF)
    EndIf
Next

Is that random enough for u ? :)

**More randomness though tbh i donno if its any good but i just thought the chances of getting the same results twice would be very rare

For $i = 1 To 50

If Random() > 0.5 Then
  If Random() < Random()  Then
        ConsoleWrite("2" & @CRLF)
   Else
        ConsoleWrite("1" & @CRLF)
  EndIf
Else
  If Random() > Random()  Then
        ConsoleWrite("2" & @CRLF)
  Else
        ConsoleWrite("1" & @CRLF)
  EndIf
EndIf
Next
