multiple And statements with an Or

Recommended Posts

I have a question about the order of operations for the following.

If I have variables A, B, X, Y

I want to say the following

If (A and B ) or (X and Y) Then

<statement>

EndIf

Will that work?

If $sA = 1 And $sB = 1 Or $sX = 2 And $sY = 2 Then

Make sure you code the statement the same way as you did in the pseudo code, enclosing the parts that have to match in parentheses to separate them from each other.

If ($sA = 1 And $sB = 1) Or ($sX = 2 And $sY = 2) Then

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

If ($sA = 1 And $sB = 1) Or ($sX = 2 And $sY = 2) Then

can I do the same thing with a case statement?

Case ($sA = 1 And $sB = 1) Or ($sX = 2 And $sY = 2)

If the Case is within a Switch, you could try using a comma ( , ) in place of the Or. But like JamesBrooks said, with AutoIt being so small, and that it's an interpretive language, it's pretty easy to try several different ways quickly, rather than waiting for the whole script to compile each time.
