Imbuter2000
I need to start a function (fileread etc...) as soon as a code file is saved in AutoIT. What's the most efficient way to intercept the file change? I thought to a loop of FileGetTime but it's only precise at "second"... (a second save withing the same second would not be intercepted). Reading the file size is not precise to (changes of content without changes in size would not be intercepted). Reading and comparing the whole content would be unerrable but too slow... A better solution?
PhoenixXL
Reading and comparing the whole content would be unerrable but too slow...Reading should be the best optionIf u think that reading the whole content would be time consumingthen try writing the special code in a specific line and then use FileReadLine My code: PredictText: Predict Text of an Edit Control Like Scite. Moderators Melba23 Posted July 15, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 15, 2012 Imbuter2000, Take a look at seangriffin's FileSystemMonitor UDF - it will let you intercept changes to a folder. I have used it successfully to recognise file changes and amend the file immediately. Is there any good (not time consuming) solution without reading the file content that can stay in maximum 10 lines of code?
Zedna
Another approach can be in loop try to open file for writing without share atribute. If it's successfull then it means previous writing to that file by other application is finished. Look at _WinAPI_CreateFile() Resources UDF ResourcesEx UDF AutoIt Forum Search
