Can you change appearance of _FTP_ProgressDownload?

4 posts in this topic

On the _FTP_ProgressDownload, it shows the file name that is being downloaded above the progressbar. The path goes out of the progress bar's bounds and doesn't look good. Is there any way to change the text or make the font smaller?

Thanks!

You can modify the function in the FTPEx.au3 file to use your own progress window, but I don't see any options in the ProgressOn function that allows you to set the font of the text, or allow different styles to be applied to the text label.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

that udf use ProgressOn command you can try to customize _FTP_ProgressDownload and change parametars for ProgressOn in _FTP_ProgressDownload func in FTPEx.au3 file for some small things like post and ability to move or have borders, but i dont know will it will influance text

help file do say "16 = Window can be moved" and nothing about resize

on the other hand you can try to customize _FTP_ProgressDownload in udf with custom gui and to display progress with GUICtrlCreateProgress

or create something that will work as progress bar with gui-gdi+ commands and your imagination

Hey guys, great advice. I had looked into the FTPEx.au3, but I didn't know where to look to edit the ProgressOn. bogQ pointed me to the right function. I ended up editing the titlebar, main title and lower text. I even got the smaller text to show the percentage! It looks much better now. The magic lines were 1076 and 1114.

Thanks again!

Edit: I just want to make a note to others who may consider editing a fuction in the Includes folder. Don't edit the actual #include. Copy & paste it in your script, edit that one and rename it. I renamed FTPEx.au3 to FTPExM.au3 and added #include <FTPExM.au3> in my script. You don't want to mess up the original files in the AutoIt folders.
