Hello!

I need a MsgBox that is shown from start to the finish of an installation-script.

How can I do this?

Help @ Andreas

You can create your custom msgbox with gui commands. There are alot of posts about something like that on forum so you can use search to get solutions about msgboxes that will not pause the script.

andik,

Look at SplashTextOn in the Help file, or you might like to look at Yashied's NotifyBox UDF. :)

Basically, all you need is to do is create a window and have text messages to it. There is an example here on how to do this using a listview control embedded within a regular overlapped window..

You can also get decent functionality out of simple one-line Tooltip() commands.

$text = "Reading database..."
ToolTip($text, @DesktopWidth / 2, @DesktopHeight / 2, "Update in progress.  Please wait.", 0, 2)
sleep(2000)
$text &= @CRLF & "Creating log files..."
ToolTip($text, @DesktopWidth / 2, @DesktopHeight / 2, "Update in progress.  Please wait.", 0, 2)
sleep(2000)
$text &= @CRLF & "Saving configuration..."
ToolTip($text, @DesktopWidth / 2, @DesktopHeight / 2, "Update in progress.  Please wait.", 0, 2)
sleep(2000)
ToolTip("Please contact the IT department.", @DesktopWidth / 2, @DesktopHeight / 2, "Update failed miserably.", 3, 2)
sleep(4000)
