stamandster Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) So I wrote this to help me with not having to keep putting the same set of removal's in place and having a huge mess of code. I figured it may help others. And perhaps someone may be able to improve on it with RegExpReplace (maybe ??). $String = 'He said something$,%Weird: "YEAH"; fix this comment' Msgbox(0,'StringWithRemove",_StringWithRemove($String,1,1,1,1) Your output would be "He said something weird: yeah". The function is pretty self explanatory $iRemoveComment = 1 Removes Comments, 0 disables $iRemoveQuotes = 1 Removes Quotes, 0 disables $iRemovePercentSigns = 1 Removes Percent Signs, 0 disables $iRemoveDollarSigns = 1 Removes Dollar Signs, 0 disables $iRemoveCommas = 1 Removes Dollar Signs and 2 replaces them with a space $iStripWS = Whatever you use normally for StringStripWS Func _StringWithRemove(byRef $sStringWith, $iRemoveComment = 0, $iRemoveQuotes = 0, $iRemovePercentSigns = 0, $iRemoveDollarSigns = 0, $iRemoveCommas = 0, $iStripWS = 0) ; Remove Comments IF StringInStr($sStringWith,';') and $iRemoveComment = 1 then $sStringWith = StringSplit($sStringWith,';') $sStringWith = StringStripWs($sStringWith[1],2);$sStringWithComment[1] ; Endif ; Remove Quotes IF StringInStr($sStringWith,'"') and $iRemoveQuotes = 1 then $sStringWith = StringReplace($sStringWith,'"',"") ; Remove Percent Signs If StringInStr($sStringWith,'%') and $iRemovePercentSigns = 1 then $sStringWith = StringReplace($sStringWith,'%',"") ; Remove Dollar Signs IF StringInStr($sStringWith,'$') and $iRemoveDollarSigns = 1 then $sStringWith = StringReplace($sStringWith,'$',"") Select Case StringInStr($sStringWith,',') and $iRemoveCommas = 1 ; Remove comma's completely $sStringWith = StringReplace($sStringWith,',','') Case StringInStr($sStringWith,',') and $iRemoveCommas = 2 ; Replace comma's with a space $sStringWith = StringReplace($sStringWith,',',' ') EndSelect ; Strip Leading Whitespace IF $iStripWS <> "" or $iStripWS <> "0" then $sStringWith = StringStripWS($sStringWith,$iStripWS) EndFunc ; ===> _StringWithRemove Edited October 16, 2012 by kickarse
