Using Speechmarks and Apostrophies

3 posts in this topic

Hiya guys,

This feels like a stupid question but I'm really having some trouble with it. I have a line of HTML code that I'm trying to write to a file, but because the HTML features both speechmarks and apostrophies then AutoIT is having difficulty determining the end of the string.

I know its going to be an easy fix, but could someone advise how I fix the following line so that it writes to my text file.

FileWriteLine('<p align="left"><font color="#666666" size="1" face="Verdana">In this email: See what's coming soon at Asos..<br />', 11)

Many Thanks

Mark

This should work.

FileWriteLine('<p align="left"><font color="#666666" size="1" face="Verdana">In this email: See what''s coming soon at Asos..<br />', 11)

I doubled the apostrophe in the word what's.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Our standard is Last-First for the sAMAccount name. We are now using an unnamed piece of crap Identity Manager that insists on all upper case names.
I am hoping to just use AutoIt to do the users one at a time as I live in fear of a PowerShell script going mad on my directory.
I downloaded and installed the UDF _StringChooseCase (thanks a million!). But it refuses to capitalize after the hyphen. Actually, I think it is for that very reason it was created :-)
      Ideas?
