Edano
thank you Melba, example 1 is what i needed. #2 beeps all the time. my listview has >3000 items that's why the notification is very useful. of course no msgbox i will use a sound or a beep. #1 is very clever and cool, tho i don't really understand how $nCol can turn to <>-1. doesn't matter, it works. thank you Edano Edit: beginning to understand it, it's quite simple. wow. Moderators Melba23 Posted April 27, 2013 Moderators Share Posted April 27, 2013 Edano,$nCol does not become -1, it is only the $iSortFlag flag that is set to that value to show that the end of this sort has been acknowledged and the prevent the MsgBox triggering until teh next sort is completed. At the end of each sort the $iSortFlag is set to the value of $nCol to trigger the MsgBox and we use that value to show which column was sorted. Clearer now?
