Random function in AutoIT

Recommended Posts

firejack527

Hi all,

I have 50 different .DAT files, i.e. wordpad files with different name for example wordpad1,wordpad2,wordpad3 till wordpad50....

How can I use AutoIt to randomly open two of them?

Moreover, if I want to randomize the mousemove function, how can I do it? For example, I want to randomly move my mouse to one of the following position (200,200), (300,300), (400,400), (500,500).

Thank you

Jack

firejack527,

Put the items into an array and then use Random to choose the index. ;)

firejack527,

This shows the idea: :)

#include <Constants.au3>

HotKeySet("{ESC}", "On_Exit") ; Just to escape whan you have had enough

Global $aArray[5] = ["File 1", "File 2", "File 3", "File 4", "File 5"]

While 1

    ; Get random integer to act as index
    $iRandom = Random(0, 4, 1)
    ; And then show the element at that index
    MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Random File", $aArray[$iRandom])

WEnd

Func On_Exit()
    Exit
EndFunc

If for example, I want my mouse randomly move to one of the following position, (300,500),(600,500),(900,500), should my script be like this?

HotKeySet("{F1}", "_Exit")
Func _Exit()
    Exit
 EndFunc

 $Array[3]=["300" ,"600" ,"900"]
 $x=Random(0,2,1)

 MouseMove($Array[$x],500)

However, why this script is still not working?

firejack527,

You need to declare your array correctly - add Global in front of the declaration line: ;)

HotKeySet("{ESC}", "_Exit")

Func _Exit()
    Exit
EndFunc

Global $Array[3]=["300", "600", "900"] ; <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
While 1
    $x=Random(0,2,1)
    MouseMove($Array[$x],500)
    Sleep(1000)
WEnd
That works for me. :)

firejack527,

Glad I could help. :)

But when you reply in future, please use the "Reply to this topic" button at the top of the thread or the "Reply to this topic" editor at the bottom rather than the "Quote" button - I know what I wrote and it just pads the thread unneccessarily. ;)
