Terenz
Hello, I want to make my GUI with some button a child of an external application. Until then, i don't have problem. The issue born because i want to make this GUI trasparent, with only the button not trasparent. For do this i need to sue the style $WS_EX_LAYERED combined to _WinAPI_SetLayeredWindowAttributes. If i use the $WS_EX_LAYERED the _WinAPI_SetParent not work, if i'll remove it work. I can't combine SetParet and the GUI trasparency? BrewManNH
Is the window you want to use $WS_EX_LAYERED with the parent or the child window? Your description of what you're doing isn't clear as to that. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Terenz
The child with the WS_EX_LAYERED, is an autoit GUI. If i add that syle the SetParent not work, if i remove it work so there is a sort of incompatibility. Maybe here there is the explaination: Windows 8: The WS_EX_LAYERED style is supported for top-level windows and child windows. Previous Windows versions support WS_EX_LAYERED only for top-level windows So seems i can't do nothing, confirmed? Or maybe there is another way to make the gui full trasparent but not the control like button without use the WS_EX_LAYERED? Edited September 9, 2013 by Terenz Nothing is so strong as gentleness.
