Stop the au. script if it dont do anything more than 2min

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have written a script then execute mulplite function(open diffferent browser,navigate different URL,save file  and much more)

but i need to add to my script a function that will close the script only if the script dont do anything for more that 2 minutes

example:

steps

1.open notepad

2.copy link from notepad

3.open mozilla

4.insert link

if one this steps will go wrong(with error) my script will just do nothing

Look at the functions TimerInit and TimerDiff. Something like this perhaps.

Global $Timer = TimerInit()
While 1
    If TimerDiff($Timer) < 120000 Then ; 2 minutes
    ; do whatever your script needs to do
    $Timer = TimerInit() ; reset the timer
    Else
        Exitloop
    Endif
Wend

This should give a rough idea, but the way it's written right now, it will never exit the loop because the timer is constantly reset. You'd need to make it so that if it's not doing something it's not resetting the timer. I don't know exactly how you'd determine that there's nothing for it to do, but I'm sure you'll know.

BTW, using Notepad to grab a list of URLs is terribly ineffiecient, you can use the text document directly without any external programs, using FileRead/FileReadLine/_FileReadToArray etc.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
