GUIDELETE

6 posts in this topic

Hi Guys,

So i have a bunch of gui's connected to buttons however when open one of the gui's these are the only two ways i can get the Gui to work:

Leaving previous GUI open (which i dont want as eventually you will have all the gui's open at the same time, no thankyou!)

Deleting the gui and then calling the function of the next gui (which equals in the user seeing the screen close then open another screen)

IF possible is there a way to either speed up the time between deleting 1 gui and running the next so that there is minimal view of the program opening a new function?

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

is there a way to speed this up even further? some of my gui's take a couple of seconds to show...   as the main page builds a table and also has images

13lack13lade,

Have you tried using WinMoveto place the GUI off-screen and then replacing it when required? :huh:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500, 100, 100)

GUISetState()

Sleep(1000)
WinMove($hGUI, "", @DesktopWidth + 10, 100) ; Now off-screen
Sleep(1000)
WinMove($hGUI, "", 100, 100)

While 1
    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd
As you are not recreating the complex controls that should be faster. :)

13lack13lade,

Didnt even know such function existed!

It might be worth taking a little time to read through the list of functions in the Help file to give you an idea of what is available - it will save a lot of time trying to find workarounds when you code. ;)

And before you ask - that Help file is so big, I often find something new when I give it a quick scan. :D
