striping whitespace driving me nuts

Recommended Posts

tsystems

I've tried stringstripWS and stringstripCR but there is are always two carriage returns at the top of all my copy and pastes >_<

Send("^r^a^c")
$crap = ClipGet
$clean = StringStripWS($crap, 8)
ClipPut($clean)

I'm going to change my name to the failinator.

What application/window are you copying from?

√-1 2^3 ∑ π, and it was delicious!

This is MS Outlook but my question applies to any text with whitespace above and below on the clipboard. I've worked around the issue but I'd still like to know why I fail.

Without seeing everything you're doing it is hard to say, try this with a blank Notepad document and see what your result is:

WinActivate("[CLASS:Notepad]", "")
Send("this is a test")
Sleep(100)
Send("^a^c")
$crap = ClipGet()
$clean = StringStripWS($crap, 8)
ClipPut($clean)

I get thisisatest as a result

√-1 2^3 ∑ π, and it was delicious!

Where are you copying the result to and how did you deduce you still have line <br>eaks left?

There is a blind guess as hint above.
