mjolnirmarkiv
Hello again, I'm in need of help with regular expressions. The idea is to capture the string "a....b", i.e. the closest "a" to "b" while existing code returns "a....a....b": #include <Array.au3> $text = "a....a....b" MsgBox (0, "", _ArrayToString (StringRegExp ($text, "(a(?:.*?)b)", 3))) Smth with resetting the match andor look ahead or behind should work here, but I'm not sure how, while help didn't clarify it to me. Thanks in advance! Edited January 12, 2014 by mjolnirmarkiv
Solution jchd Posted January 12, 2014 Solution Share Posted January 12, 2014 Try this: #include <Array.au3> Local $text = "a....a....b" Local $res = StringRegExp ($text, "(a[^a]*?b)", 3) MsgBox (0, "", _ArrayToString ($res)) This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). Malkey
Using string manipulation only - no arrays. Local $text = "a....a....b" MsgBox(0, "", StringRegExpReplace($text, "^.*(a[^a]*?b).*$", "\1"))
