WM to switch input direction

hello all RTL & non-RTL typers,

background:

as you must have noticed, the keyboard combination Alt + Shift is often used to switch input language.

for RTL (right-to-left) languages, the keyboard combination Right Ctrl + Shift is commonly used to switch writing direction to RTL, and Left Ctrl + Shift to switch back to LTR. note: this is not the same as paragraph right-align / left-align!

issue:

i want to switch language and direction for the active window, and i found Send() to be somewhat unreliable.

solution (so far):

i managed to change the language by sending WM_INPUTLANGCHANGEREQUEST with lParam being the language code. that works perfectly. ref:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms632630(v=vs.85).aspx

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/goglobal/bb964664.aspx

problem:

i can't find the relevant WM for changing the direction.

thanks to anyone who can provide any hint on that.

INPUTLANGCHANGE_BACKWARD

0x0004

INPUTLANGCHANGE_FORWARD

0x0002

yet again my premonitions misguide me! i was sure these only switch the language to whatever is next (or previous) on the list of languages. you are correct, that is exactly what i was looking for, thanks!
