Populating listview ctrl based on combobox selected item issue

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am trying to populate a listview control on selecting combo box item.

I put the code bellow in a WM_COMMAND function inside the "$CBN_SELCHANGE."

My problem is that I do not know how to get current selected combo item text when $CBN_SELCHANGE case occurs.

The _GUICtrlComboBox_GetEditText($hCombo) function return the text before the edit field of the combo control changed,

and the _GUICtrlComboBox_GetCurSel($hCombo) return the index of the combo item that was selected.

Is there anyway to get the text of the item after calling _GUICtrlComboBox_GetCurSel($hCombo)?

Any idea how do I accomplished that?

                Case $CBN_SELCHANGE ; Sent when the user changes the current selection in the list box of a combo box
                    Local $count = 0
                    _GUICtrlListView_DeleteAllItems($hListView)

                    ConsoleWrite("ss=" & _GUICtrlComboBox_SetCurSel($hCombo, _GUICtrlComboBox_GetCurSel($hCombo)) & @CRLF)

                    For $b = 0 To UBound($aInfrastracture) - 1
                        ConsoleWrite("1 " & "_GUICtrlComboBox_GetCurSel($hCombo)=" & _GUICtrlComboBox_GetCurSel($hCombo) & ", " & "$aInfrastracture[$b][0]=" & $aInfrastracture[$b][0] & @CRLF)
                        If StringCompare(_GUICtrlComboBox_GetEditText($hCombo), $aInfrastracture[$b][0]) = 0 Then
                            _GUICtrlListView_BeginUpdate($hListView)
                            _GUICtrlListView_AddItem($hListView, $count + 1)
                            _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($hListView, $count, $aInfrastracture[$b][2], 1)
                            _GUICtrlListView_EndUpdate($hListView)
                        EndIf
                        $count = $count + 1
                    Next
                    $count = 0

Best Regards and thanks for everyone for being great community!!!!

Is this an AutoIt created combobox? If it is, you don't need the windows message to find out if it changed.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

lsakizada,

Let AutoIt do the work behind the scenes and just wait for the event to occur in your idle loop: ;)

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$cCombo = GUICtrlCreateCombo("", 10, 10, 200, 20)
GUICtrlSetData($cCombo, "Item 1|Item 2|Item 3|Item 4|Item 5")

GUISetState()

While 1
    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
        Case $cCombo ; <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
            MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Selected", GUICtrlRead($cCombo))
    EndSwitch
WEnd
All clear? :)
