Looping while GUI while loop is running

I want to call a specific function every 2 minutes. I also have a GUI element running.

These two thing require me to have two "While" loop running at the same time.

I come up with the following solution that is working but I would like to know if it's the optimal one.

$timestamp = TimerInit()  ;start timer
While 1
    $msg = GuiGetMsg()
    Select
        Case $msg = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
    Exit
    Case Else
    EndSelect

 ;Run function every two minutes
If TimerDiff($timestamp) > 120000 Then

  myfunc()

  ;Reset timer
$timestamp = TimerInit()

 Endif
WEnd

The way you are doing it would be the way I'd do it. Just don't use 2 While loops or you might get stuck in one of them with no way out of it if you do it wrong.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
