I need a variable which determines what the current default audio device is

Hello!

I have a monitor and a headset I use interchangeably for my sound.  To switch between them I use the two scripts below.

;Switch to Headset
Run("control mmsys.cpl")
WinWaitActive("Sound")
ControlSend("Sound", "", "", "{Down 2}!s{ESC}")
Exit
;Switch to Monitor
Run("control mmsys.cpl")
WinWaitActive("Sound")
ControlSend("Sound", "", "", "{Down}!s{ESC}")
Exit

I want to combine them together with an if statement.  Is there a variable that would tell me which audio device is the default, or which one isn't?  Ultimately, I'd hope it works out like this:

Open sound manager

If the headset is the default audio device then switch to monitor

Elseif the monitor is the head set device then switch to headset

EndIf

Also, am I using Exit properly?

have you searched the forums here? I'm sure I've seen several examples of how to determine which audio device is the default and/or the current audio device.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Back up and restore Windows user files _Array.au3 - Modified array functions that include support for 2D arrays.  -  ColorChooser - An add-on for SciTE that pops up a color dialog so you can select and paste a color code into a script.  -  Customizable Splashscreen GUI w/Progress Bar - Create a custom "splash screen" GUI with a progress bar and custom label.  -  _FileGetProperty - Retrieve the properties of a file  -  SciTE Toolbar - A toolbar demo for use with the SciTE editor  -  GUIRegisterMsg demo - Demo script to show how to use the Windows messages to interact with controls and your GUI.  -   Latin Square password generator

Yeah, but I didn't find anything.  I also tried an hour of googling.

I didn't see anything in these links that I could use to determine the current playback device in windows 8.1.  Thanks though ^_^
