Recommended Posts

hi

i want to search a string for a small string that is between two quotes "x"

the problem is that i dont know the length or the letters inside the small string but it is a link

example:

sometext"google.com/blablalba.html"somemore text

sometext "facebook.com/test5.4 new"fsdfds

what is an easy way to pull that link from the string

Alexxander,

Not too difficult: ;)

#include <Array.au3>
#include <String.au3>

$sText = 'sometext"google.com/blablalba.html"somemore text' & @CRLF & _
'sometext "facebook.com/test5.4 new"fsdfds'

$aExtract = StringRegExp($sText, '"(.*)"', 3)

_ArrayDisplay($aExtract, "RexEx", Default, 8)

; Or use _StringBetween

$aExtract = _StringBetween($sText, '"', '"', $STR_ENDNOTSTART)

_ArrayDisplay($aExtract, "_StringBetween", Default, 8)
SRE decode

"     - Look for a "
(.*)  - capture all characters
"     - until the next "

3     - find all matches

Melba,

Your explanation is exact only if you use a lazy star .*?

Otherwise it should be

"  :   - until the last " before the newline or end of string

because the dot matches "
