will this work when compiled??

For $x = 1 to 13
    $DCard_[$x] = @TempDir & "\dk" & $x & ".jpg"
    FileInstall("C:\Temp\cards\dcard_" & $x & ".jpg", $DCard_[$x])
Next

if not how is the best way to do this???

I don't think so:

The source path of the file to compile. This must be a literal string; it cannot be a variable.

You might think about zipping the files, file install that file, then extract the files.

Edit: just noticed what that says from the help for FileInstall, The source path of the file to compile

don't think we need "to compile" in that sentence.

You could zip the files in any program that created a self extractor that would extract to a specified folder.
