how to resize the GUICtrlCreateLabel to be able contain the text and change the color 

GUICtrlCreateLabel("", 184, 96, 31, 17)

GUICtrlSetData( -1,"toooooooooooooo long text")

You can reset the size using GUICtrlSetPos. 

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

You'll have to figure out the #includes yourself. This is from some big program I made and wanted to resize some labels based on the width and height of the text based on the font name/size I used.

Look at my StringSize UDF (the link is in my sig) - it gives you the required size of a control to fit the text in any font/style.
