Does Autoit always use your cursor? (new to this)

Recommended Posts

Hey so basically im very knew it autoit, iv been watching guides on youtube just following along with people making simple stuff using autoit (doing it so i can learn/play around with how the functions and stuff work). Anyways while iv been doing pretty well making very simple stuff and learning along the way i noticed Autoit always takes control of my courser and was wondering if there was a around it, instead of using my courser move to a certain section of the screen then double click to open a program on the desktop, it would instead just issue a double click command onto the desktop in the position you have set.

If your question was meaning "Does AutoIt need to use the Mouse to control some stuffs?", then, the answer is no.

You can automate your stuffs using Control*, Win*, UI Automation functions, which are surely more reliable than Mouse* ones, since you can work with non-relative mouse positions, but directly with handles and windows :)

thanks man, is there a guide or pref a youtube video showing how to use the feature/in action? also just to clarify i mean something like if i had a script written to right clikc and open a program as admin, and the program was on my 2nd screen. but on my first screen ill be doing something else, when i run the script it uses my cursor to move to the point i set, to right click then  to left click the next point i set, meanwhile i can use my mouse or else it will interfere witht the script

Welcome to the AutoIt forums.

Looking at the title of that GUI ("Eradication X Reborn") it looks like you are trying to automate a game. So you appear to have missed the Forum rules on your way in. Please read them now - particularly the bit about not discussing game automation - and then you will understand why you will get no help and this thread will now be locked.

See you soon with a legitimate question I hope.
