My 2 cents here... 

As many many people have mentioned, make your script a trial version without a serial number (less headache).

Trial lasts for 30 days, then stops running. Once the poor suckers, errr...  I mean buyer purchases the software, then they will receive an email mentioning where to download their newly purchased program.

Word of advise, rather forget that the user has the program.
