Running web apps without opening browser? - (Moved)

Hi All,

I have a need to run the following:

http://localhost:8420/servlet/EpgAutoAddDataRes?action=15

at random times during the day.

This might be impossible, but is there a way to run this without opening a browser window?

Please @photonbuddy tell us a bit more about what do you mean be "run" this? I guess you are searching for a webserver which runs you localhost URL? What does the call do?
