Hi folks ๐Ÿ‘‹ ,

just out of curiosity:
I'm interested in which DBMS database management systems you use.
Whether privately or professionally, which ones do you work with?

If you like, you can also write a little context about it (area of application, etc.). But as always, it's not a must.
I'm not interested in what you've tried, but rather what you use "frequently" or are at least somehow familiar with.

That above is the "other" I use. MySQL for my "AutoIt as a CGI"** , and the beloved SQLite.

**ย in apache/php. I either code an AutoIt page generator, or a JSON string "returner", or anything that would avoid me coding perl or php. And use a MySQL UDF from somewhere that is in code I haven't touch in years, and would take for me to go to the client(s) PC(s) to look at to tell you exactly the one.

Note to self: get organized !, you :censored:ย ๐Ÿ˜…

More than understandable, thanks.

No thanks, I don't need to know that much detail. But it's interesting nonetheless.

Best regards
Sven

Note:
Hi Sven, You started an identical survey in the German forum. I will repeat my answer here so that our international friends (f, m, d) can also read it.

For larger projects, I primarily use PostgreSQL. This DBMS is extremely powerful, extensively documented, and very pleasant in terms of licensing.

Otherwise, SQLite also serves me well, as it is easy to integrate. Depending on the application, PostgreSQL would be too much of a โ€œcannonโ€ ;).

I only use SQLite for both personal and pro needs. I don't even use code (AutoIt or other) to manage my DBs: I run SQLite Expert Pro 24/7 and this covers 99.9% of my daily needs. The only extras I use are a handful of extensions I wrote (in C) to make my life easier.

This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). An absolute must have in your bookmarks.
Another excellent RegExp tutorial. Don't forget downloading your copy of up-to-date pcretest.exe and pcregrep.exe here
RegExp tutorial: enough to get started
PCRE v8.33 regexp documentation latest available release and currently implemented in AutoIt beta.

SQLitespeed is another feature-rich premier SQLite manager (includes import/export). Well worth a try.
SQLite Expert (freeware Personal Edition or payware Pro version) is a very useful SQLite database manager.
An excellent eBook covering almost every aspect of SQLite3: a must-read for anyone doing serious work.
SQL tutorial (covers "generic" SQL, but most of it applies to SQLite as well)
A work-in-progress SQLite3 tutorial. Don't miss other LxyzTHW pages!
SQLite official website with full documentation (may be newer than the SQLite library that comes standard with AutoIt)
