Looking for direction

First, thanks for any help provided. I am working to automate the installation of a few chioce programs and in doing so I found the need to choose different options based on a few extraneous factors.

1st - I'm very new to this scripting thing so the help file is getting me places but not where I need to be.

2nd - If you want to just hand it over that would be great(not expected). if not then please just point me in the right direction. I'm not against doing some reading.

What I'd like to do is have a pop-up of some sort at the begining of the script that asks a few questions and then passes the answers to the apropriate portion of the script to run the correct option. I have the understanding that I'll need to write two iterations of the same function and then have the options passed tell it which one to run.

Just not sure how to get there.... or get started on it.

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
