If $file = -1 Then

MsgBox(0, "Error", "Unable to open file.")

$file = FileOpen("checkbox.dat", 0)

If $file = -1 Then

MsgBox(0, "Error", "Unable to open file.")

Exit

EndIf

$chars = FileRead($file, 1)

While 1

If $chars = "0" Then

Do something

If $chars = "1" Then

Do something else

Else

ExitLoop

If @error = -1 Then ExitLoop

Wend

FileClose($file)

Or:

If StringInStr(FileRead($FileLocationName), '0') Then
    ;Do Something
Else
    ;Do something else
EndIf
