best way to store variables

hi great forum, been awhile since i needed autoit.

but the moment arrived.

i am building a gui and looking for a good way to store my settings and esp. variables.

i guess using file write and read is a way but i am looking for something more streamlined, if possible not a user readable form like txt or xml.

Hi!

I think that you can store the data in the registry, or, you can make a *.dat file, and write to it by FileWrite, and later also you can read from it by FileReadLine - or even you can make you own format, like *.prg, and store data in it. But this is not quite easy, better to write data to *.ini file, then it mach esear to read from it, the ini file can be any file (even *.dat) and have structure like ini (Section, kesy and values), then you can read from it like from ini file, but in some cases the encoding of file make a diferend.
