Create child Gui inside of a tab

Recommended Posts

is it possible to create a child gui inside of a tab?

I want it so that when I go to the "Help" tab in one of my GUI scripts it shows a child GUI which will be a browser that will load the help page

This is the part of the script that holds that information

GuiCtrlCreateTab(0, 40, 600, 525)
GuiCtrlCreateTabItem("Help")
GuiCreate("", 500, 500, 50, 50, $WS_CHILD + $WS_BORDER, "", $gui)
GUISetState()
$msg = 0
While $msg <> $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
    $msg = GUIGetMsg( )
    Select
    case $msg = $Help
    EndSelect
WEnd
GuiCtrlCreateTabItem("")

Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

Hi,

Try this:

#include <GuiConstants.au3>

$Gui = GuiCreate("Parent Gui", 500, 500)

GUISetState()

$Help = GuiCtrlCreateTab(10, 40, 480, 450)
GuiCtrlCreateTabItem("First Tab Item")
GuiCtrlCreateTabItem("Help")

$HelpGui = GuiCreate("Help", 350, 350, -1, -1, $WS_BORDER, -1, $Gui)

While 1
    $Msg = GUIGetMsg()
    Select
        Case $Msg = $Help
            If GUICtrlRead($Help) = 1 Then
                GUISetState(@SW_SHOW, $HelpGui)
            Else
                GUISetState(@SW_HIDE, $HelpGui)
            EndIf
        Case $Msg = -3
            Exit
    EndSelect
WEnd
