GUIRegisterMsg menu open/close

Recommended Posts

Why doesn't this work? The label always stays as 0, but the functions still call.

Edit: New question: How would I get it so that it only checks if $msg = $item when the menu is exited (or whenever the item is clicked)?

#include <GUIConstants.au3>
$mopen = 0

$gui = GUICreate("")
$menu = GUICtrlCreateMenu("Menu")
$item = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("Item", $menu)
$label = GUICtrlCreateLabel($mopen, 100, 0)

Global Const $WM_ENTERMENULOOP = 0x0211
Global Const $WM_EXITMENULOOP = 0x0212
GUIRegisterMsg($WM_ENTERMENULOOP, "EnterMenu")
GUIRegisterMsg($WM_EXITMENULOOP, "ExitMenu")

GUISetState()

While GUIGetMsg() <> $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
    GUICtrlSetData($label, $mopen)
WEnd

Func EnterMenu ()
    Global $mopen = 1
EndFunc

Func ExitMenu ()
    Global $mopen = 0
EndFunc

Hi,

The label always stays as 0

Because when you open the menu, script is paused (the main loop stops), and the label updated only when you close the menu - and when you close it, function ExitMenu () is called :)..

Try this:

#include <GUIConstants.au3>
Global $mopen = 0

$gui = GUICreate("")
$menu = GUICtrlCreateMenu("Menu")
$item = GUICtrlCreateMenuItem("Item", $menu)
$label = GUICtrlCreateLabel($mopen, 100, 0)

Global Const $WM_ENTERMENULOOP = 0x0211
Global Const $WM_EXITMENULOOP = 0x0212
GUIRegisterMsg($WM_ENTERMENULOOP, "EnterMenu")
GUIRegisterMsg($WM_EXITMENULOOP, "ExitMenu")

GUISetState()

While GUIGetMsg() <> $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
    If $mopen <> GUICtrlRead($label) Then GUICtrlSetData($label, $mopen)
WEnd

Func EnterMenu ()
    $mopen = 1
    GUICtrlSetData($label, $mopen)
EndFunc

Func ExitMenu ()
    $mopen = 0
EndFunc
