Hi Everyone

is there a better way to write a long string

$eohdr= "<?php" &@CRLF &"// converted $infile to $outfile for php tags"&@CRLF&"// by "&"// Author: n9mfk"&@CRLF&"//"&"// --------------------------------------------------------------------------"&@CRLF&"// allow viewing of generated source"&@CRLF&@CRLF&"if ( \$_REQUEST['sce'] == 'view' ) {"&@CRLF & " download('view');"&@CRLF& "exit;"&"}"

thanks Beau

If you mean to make it look cleaner then yes. 2 quick methods.

#1 use line contiuation with {space} underscore

$eohdr = "<?php" & @CRLF & "// converted $infile to $outfile for php tags" & @CRLF & _
"// by " & "// Author: n9mfk" & @CRLF & "//// ---------------------------------" & @CRLF & _
"// allow viewing of generated source"&@CRLF&@CRLF&"if ( \$_REQUEST['sce'] == 'view' ) {" & @CRLF & _
" download('view');"& @CRLF & "exit;}"

#2

$eohdr = "<?php" & @CRLF & "// converted $infile to $outfile for php tags" & @CRLF
$eohdr &= "// by " & "// Author: n9mfk" & @CRLF & "//// ---------------------------------" & @CRLF
$eohdr &= "// allow viewing of generated source"&@CRLF&@CRLF&"if ( \$_REQUEST['sce'] == 'view' ) {" & @CRLF
$eohdr &= " download('view');"& @CRLF & "exit;}"

Maybe...

$eohdr = StringFormat("<?php\n// converted $infile to $outfile for php tags\n// by // Author: n9mfk\n" & _
    "//// --------------------------------------------------------------------------\n" & _
    "// allow viewing of generated source\n\nif ( \$_REQUEST['sce'] == 'view' ) {\n download('view');\nexit;}")

:D
