I have a url that forces a popup login box - the Window Info tool identifies it - just wasn't sure is there any way via the IE.au3 functionality to interact with windows like this or is it just a matter of doing a winwait then controlsend with the login info?

Post the sample URL where it pops up, so we can see the pop up window source.

there isn't anything in the source that justifies the popup (i guess closest example i can think of is the same type of password login you get when trying to hit a pswd protected page in apache its a windows generated login box (popup was prob a bad word as it isn't html)

atm this seems to work though also seems crude if there is a more logical way to handle it..

There used to be a supported syntax that passed username and password in the URL, but that has been disabled in all modern browsers for secutity reasons. Your approach using WinWait and ControlSend is the correct one as the popups are not HTML, but rather Win32 dialogs.

Has one been able to get something like this working? I have been working on this for hours but no luck. My situation is the same as the poster even with the same field names. I am using IE7 and Vista and thus far I have not seen any solution to this in the forums. Any help is greatly appreciated.

@stall, the above statement is saying "at this time this seems to work..."

and Dale says that's the best way now, so the code 2 posts above is the one to use
