Where do UDF's go?

4 posts in this topic

Hi, i havent been using AutoIT long so yes i am a n00b, but i've come to a real stand still! All i want to do is add a UDF. There is no where anywhere, that tells you what to do with it once you've downloaded it. I have put it in the "C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\Include" folder as that seemed the logical thing to do, and then write #include <*.au3> whatever the udf i wanted to use. But that fails to work, and i was just hoping someone could tell me what to do?

i need serious help! Thanks.

Well, you know with the Standard UDF library, when you start typing it shows all the possibilities...

I don't get any of that with UDF's outside of the standard library - should i?

EDIT: Sorry, i tried the full extension, but that didnt work either.

Nope, that's a custom thing you have to do yourself. Just type in the function with any/all parameters you need and it will still work. They're called user call tips. You have to add those yourself but here's a handy little piece of coding.
