IE7 SPAPI.DLL entry point error

4 posts in this topic

So i dont know if i am just unlucky or what but... it appears as though the call '__IECreateNewIE' makes reference to SPAPI.DLL and has successfully destroyed the tools written prior to the IE7 upgrade my team has undergone.

if anyone knows why please let me know but for a temp fix the resolution i used was beta compiled with the current beta out and is now funcitonal again?!

well whatever, if anyone knows why this is please let me know. :)

This error occurs, if you have older psapi.dlls in you %PATH%. Delete all copies and just leave the newest ( should be located in

C:\WINDOWS\system32\psapi.dll
)

Is it still the PSAPI.dll message?

Did you delete/rename ALL copies except those in sydtem32?

(You have to delete them in AutoItDir, too)

Problem: Error message about PSAPI.DLL

If you install IE7 and the following error message begins to show:

The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

1. Search your hard disk for PSAPI.dll.

2. Any copies of this DLL that are found outside of the Windows or Windows\System32 folder should be renamed to PSAPI.bak.

For me, this worked and all runs fine :) Edited by ProgAndy
