This came in so useful I just had to share it.

I for so long make controls extra long if they contained dynamic data that was too big to fit in the small control.

This function will return the length(en pixels) of any amount of text, allowing for math functions to dynamically determine arrangement of controls based on the length of a string of text.

Please include me in the credits of any apps you use this for.

func _string_estimated_length($String)
    return StringLen($string)*6.3
EndFunc

simple but effective.
