Hi,

Are there any tutorials/guides/ tips and tricks you guys recomend for a new autoit user ?? i searched the forum and the only link i could find is not there anymore.

My goals :

- First auto installation of programs, Adding system ODBC stuff, adding printers etc.

- Auto macro check for Syrnia (webbased game, who gives a picture with 4 numbers, than you gotta insert that into a box) <-- is that even possible ??

- later a bot for Darkfall Online, if i even get that far :)

i dont want code, just need some help starting up, cause we all know, the beginning is the hardest

Read the FAQ in this forum. It has some options. I posted it around 3/4 down the page... :)

See my sig for a tutorial on the basics of programming and AutoIt.

Cheers,

Brett

Roach,

Welcome to AutoIt and the forums.

I wish more newcomers had your sensible approach and decided to read something (even the Help file!) before rushing in!

With your attitude you should find plenty of help here - it is those who expect their scripts to be written for them who get short shrift.

The helpfile is amazing for when your starting off, it will get you very far.

I would advise first looking up some things for the macro, this is made particularly easy in autoit because you can use functions such as:

MouseGetPos() <--- Gives the position of the mouse

PixelGetColor() <--- Gives you the colour of the pixel under the given coordinates

MouseClick() <-- Great easy to use function to click on the screen

ControlClick() <-- All the ability of MouseClick, but its possible to click into background windows.

Send() <-- Simulate keystroks (Type)

ControlSend() <-- Type to a background window

You will also want to look into hotkeys because if you use these functions and need to exit quickly, you wont have control over the mouse if you use MouseClick... So:

HotkeySet <--- A must have

Still learning...I love autoit. :)
