iamrock Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 When I run the example script from the MsgBox section of the help file, the message box should be system modal, but is not. I can click on other windows and the MsgBox moves to the background. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm using version 3.3.0.0. MsgBox(4096, "Test", "This box will time out in 10 seconds", 10)

iamrock Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 That's the problem. It SHOULDN'T move to the background, but DOES. I've tried on two separate XP computers and neither are truly system modal.

trancexx Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 That flag is specific because it gives the WS_EX_TOPMOST style to the message box. ... so e.g. taskmanager will hide it and vice versa. ♡♡♡ . eMyvnE
GEOSoft Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 (edited) This is from WinSetOnTop() but I think it also applies here.Third-party programs which add an "Always On Top" context menu entry might not update their menu entry to reflect the AutoIt-induced change in TOPMOST status. It will depend on the window you are using to test with.EDIT: I also never bother with System modal, I just set the flag to include Top-Most (262144) Edited April 29, 2009 by GEOSoft George Question about decompiling code? iamrock Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 I figured it out! I run UltraMon v3.0.2 with dual monitors. While this application is running, all windows (including AutoIt system modal message boxes) get an icon added next to the X (move to other monitor). This apparently prevents the window from being modal. Once I close UltraMon, the message boxes stay in the foreground as they should.
