How do you set/add a picture in the GUI?

Like Adding a picture in the resource and using that resource.

KurogamineNox,

Look at Zedna's Resources UDF. ;)

But do read the topic carefully and play with the examples for a while to understand how it works. :)

Okay, though I'm getting confused...I don't know if its just me or what. How do I set all the files so that the examples work correctly?

KurogamineNox,

Firstly, when you reply please use the "Add Reply" button at the top and bottom of the page rather then the "Reply" button in the post itself. That way you do not get the contents of the previous post quoted in your reply and the whole thread becomes easier to read. ;)

How do I set all the files so that the examples work correctly?

You need to download and unzip both zip files (au3 and data) into the same folder - the examples should then run without problem. :)

Okay thanks, I figured out the problem. I had the folders and files in the right places, it just didn't work when using "Use X64 version"

I switched to "Use X86 Version" and it worked fine. I don't know why though.

KurogamineNox,

There are considerable differnces in detail between how the 2 modes handle resources, as well as lots of other "under the bonnet" things. You will have to ask Zedna for more details.

Glad you got it working. ;)

You can always use GIFAnimation.au3. It doesn't get easier than that.

For example on Win7 this GUI would have PNG and BITMAP showing:

#include "GIFAnimation.au3"

Global $hGUI = GUICreate("Example", 250, 300)

Global $pGIF1
; PE Resource (file "mmsys.cpl", Type: PNG, Name: 200)
_GUICtrlCreateGIF("mmsys.cpl", "PNG;200", 10, 10, $pGIF1) ;<- PNG
GUICtrlSetTip(-1, "PNG")

Global $pGIF2
; PE Resource (file "mmsys.cpl", Type: RT_BITMAP, Name: 250)
_GUICtrlCreateGIF("mmsys.cpl", "2;250", 10, 210, $pGIF2) ;<- BMP
GUICtrlSetTip(-1, "BMP")

GUISetState()
While 1
    If GUIGetMsg() = -3 Then Exit
WEnd

Don't get mislead by the name of the UDF file. It works for any kind of images.

Thank you for your help.

Ill take a look into the GIFAnimation.au3 script and find out which one I feel more comfortable with.

I'm using this method to add an image to a GUI:

#include <GDIplus.au3>
#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#Include <Memory.au3>

_GDIPlus_Startup()

Local $hImage = Load_BMP_From_Mem(Backround_PIC())
Local $iX = _GDIPlus_ImageGetWidth($hImage)
Local $iY = _GDIPlus_ImageGetHeight($hImage)

Local $hWnd = GUICreate("Display image from memory by UEZ 2010", $iX, $iY)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

Local $hGraphics = _GDIPlus_GraphicsCreateFromHWND($hWnd)
_GDIPlus_GraphicsDrawImageRect ($hGraphics, $hImage, 0, 0, $iX, $iY);copy bitmap to GUI

GUISetState()

GUIRegisterMsg(0x0014, "WM_ERASEBKGND")

    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            _GDIPlus_ImageDispose($hImage)
            _GDIPlus_GraphicsDispose($hGraphics)

It loads the image from the memory using the binary string!

You can use this code from Ward to convert a binary file to hex string:

$VarName = StringStripWS(InputBox("MemoryDllGen", "Select a name of variable:", "DllBinary"), 3)
If $VarName = "" Then Exit

$DllName = FileOpenDialog("Open dll file", @ScriptDir, "DLL file (*.*)")
If $DllName = "" Then Exit

$Handle = FileOpen($DllName, 16)
$DllBinary = FileRead($Handle)
FileClose($Handle)

$LineLen = 160
$DllString = String($DllBinary)

$Script = "Local $" & $VarName & " = '" & StringLeft($DllString, $LineLen) & "'" & @CRLF
$DllString = StringTrimLeft($DllString, $LineLen)

While StringLen($DllString) > $LineLen
    $Script &= "    $" & $VarName & " &= '" & StringLeft($DllString, $LineLen) & "'" & @CRLF
    $DllString = StringTrimLeft($DllString, $LineLen)
WEnd

If StringLen($DllString) <> 0 Then $Script &= " $" & $VarName & " &= '" & $DllString & "'" & @CRLF
ClipPut($Script)

MsgBox(64, 'MemoryDll Generator', 'The result is in the clipboard, you can paste it to your script.')
Exit

I hope it helps, too!

I can do that too ;)

#include "GIFAnimation.au3"

Global $aDimension = _GIF_GetDimension(Backround_PIC())
Global $hGUI = GUICreate("Example", $aDimension[0], $aDimension[1])

Global $pGIF

_GUICtrlCreateGIF(Backround_PIC(), "", 0, 0, $pGIF)
GUICtrlSetTip(-1, "Embedded")

GUISetState()
While 1
    If GUIGetMsg() = -3 Then Exit
WEnd

Func Backround_PIC()

I've no doubt that you can do this, too! :)

Btw, I made a typo -> of course function name should be Background_PIC...
