Selecting a window and getting it's handle

4 posts in this topic

I want to be able to select a window and then it's handle so I can pass that to a script that will remove the menu bar and border, then I can set it's resolution and place it at 0,0. How would I go about selecting the window?

Look at WinActivate () in the help file. It returns the HWND if successful.

Dating a girl is just like writing software. Everything's going to work just fine in the testing lab (dating), but as soon as you have contract with a customer (marriage), then your program (life) is going to be facing new situations you never expected. You'll be forced to patch the code (admit you're wrong) and then the code (wife) will just end up all bloated and unmaintainable in the end.

Ehh, I don't want to get it from the next window activated. I want to get it from the selected window. (either select with mouse or mouse+key)
