TimerInit

I know autoit3 is not multithread (in the general sense, before a debate breaks out).

But my question is, does the interpreter run this function in a separate thread?

I ask because I've never really used it, because I've thought it would take up a fair amount of the only thread I have to work with.

JohnOne,

No need for a separate thread. TimerInit take an instant snapshot of the system time. You then use TimerDiff to compare that snapshot to the current snap-shot. An idea of what I mean:

Time    Code
01      $iBegin = TimerInit() ; $iBegin is set to 01
02
03      If TimerDiff($iBegin) > 5 ; This use (03 - 01) = 2 which is not > 5
04
05      If TimerDiff($iBegin) > 5 ; This use (05 - 01) = 4 which is not > 5
06
07      If TimerDiff($iBegin) > 5 ; This use (07 - 01) = 6 which is > 5

Basically it is not a Timer at all - just a time stamp.

All clear? ;)
