A few questions

8 posts in this topic

Hello! I have a few questions that I would like help on.

1: What is the function to create a dropdown list that is NOT a menu list? So justanormal dropdown in the middle of my GUI.

2: So when make my GUI with a drop down box, I'm going to add subsections. I will not need function for this I think I can figure that out. But let's say my script is...

Dim $On = False
Hotkeyset("{F2}", "Example)

While 1
If $On = True Then
Send("{Z down}")
Sleep(10)
Send{"Z up}")
WEnd

Func Example()
If $On = False
Then
$on =True
Else
$On = False
Endfunc

And one of my options on the Dropdown box was "X", how would I make it so It presses X instead of Z?

Those are all of my questions until I get answers. Also that script might not be perfect because I am on my iPhone so I don't have the script on my computer, but you get the idea.

Rabbitman,

Dog eaten your Help file? :x

Ans 1:

$hCombo = GUICtrlCreateCombo(....)

Ans 2:

$sKey = GUICtrlRead($hCombo)
Send("{" & $sKey & " down}")

What? That is nowhere near what I'm asking for... But I figured it out a while ago. My new question is how do I make it so that instead of it being from a dropdown, it's from an input box, an then what I type is what comes out.

You haven't included much info, have you?

$texthandle = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 0, 0) ;the two 0's will be modified by you to fit your GUI
While 1
    $text = GUICtrlRead($texthandle)
    Dim $On = False
    Hotkeyset("{F2}", "Example)

WEnd

    If $On = True Then
        Send("{" & $text & " down}")
        Sleep(10)
        Send{"" & $text & " up}")
    EndIf

    Func Example()
        If $On = False Then
            $on = True
        Else
            $On = False
    Endfunc

Tell me if you have any problems with that.

Then you should perhaps give rather more detail when asking questions. :P

My new question is....

I hope you can "figure it out" yourself or persuade someone else to help, because you will certainly not be getting any more help from me after that last reply! :x

Two helpful replies from two separate people given here

What? That is nowhere near what I'm asking for... But I figured it out a while ago. My new question is..

I think your for your next question you should ask yourself, "How can I be more appreciative of basic help offered to me for my basic questions?"

Did you notice that Melba23 is an AutoIt MVP? I worship those guys and it would be a good idea for you to do the same.
