susb8383
Has anyone had this happen or heard of this: I have Windows XP. I just did a bunch of the latest windows updates. Most of them were security patches. Now if I open Windows Explorer, I can't see the folder that contains any of the au3 files. But the shortcut to them still works. So for example, I had all my au3 files in a subfolder called scripts. When I open Windows Explorer, the subfolder scripts was missing. So I created a new subfolder called ydsc (just typed anything in for testing purposes) and I moved all the au3 files to this new subfolder. Then I opened a new Windows Explorer. Now scripts shows, but ydsc doesn't. I tried this a few times. Any subfolder I created that I put those au3 files in disappeared. And once I removed them, it showed up again. I assume this is related to the security updates I installed because this never happened before. Has anyone seen this odd behavior and do you know how to stop this from happening? susb8383
Never mind...I think it was a remnant of the virus we had (which is why I updated Windows in the first place). Found this post on another thread that fixed it: http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?36172-Windows-Folder-Disappeared!-%28WME%29 --Susie
JohnOne
No, never seen anything like it, I'm a little curious. "So I created a new subfolder called ydsc (just typed anything in for testing purposes) and I moved all the au3 files to this new subfolder" What method did you use to move these invisible scripts?
