RegWrite trouble

Trying to make a script that will stop windows from auto installing devices, Got the idea from this link...

This is my code so far but I am not sure why it not working...

RegWrite("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DriverSearching", "SearchOrderConfig", "REG_DWORD", 0)

any help would be appreciated.

Windows x64? If it is, look in the HKLMSoftwareWOW6234Node keys instead of the one you're looking in and see if it's changed there.


If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I looked in the WOW6234Node and tried manually changing the settings, it did not seem to have any effect, although I am using a 64 bit system.

When I manually change it in the directory I specified above, it works. So I am thinking there is something wrong with my command syntax, but i am not sure what it could be. Its not giving me any error messages.
